2024 calendar wallpapers

This year, I want to celebrate each month depicting a great scientist in the month of their birth.

I have created a phone wallpaper with a calendar that you can apply as a background or to print it to wrtite directly in the “notes” section (for personal use only).

Italian botanist, she was the first woman to be professor of Botany in the Italian University. She was engaged in the protection of birds and their environnement.

German astronomer and mathematitian, she discovered several comeths. first woman to receive a salary as a scientist and the first woman in England to hold a government position.

Rita Mevi-Montalcini

Italian Neuroscientist, she won the Nobel prize for Medicine and Physiology in 1986 for the discovery of the Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) jointly with her colleague Dr. Stanley Cohen.

Eleanor Anne Ormerod

Pioneer English entomologist. She studied agriculture by herself and made observations of insets under the microscope. She became one of the first to define the field of agricultural entomology.

Barbara McClintock

American scientist and cytogeneticist PhD in Botany from Cornell University in 1927. She was awarded the 1983 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for the discovery of transposones, mobile elements in DNA.

Edith Marion Patch

American entomologist, fist woman to head the Maine Agricultural Experiment Station and first female president of the Entomological Society of America. She worked on aphids identification and biology.

Italian biologist, physiologist, limnologist ans zoologist. She has been the first woman to obtain a chair in the history of the Kingdom of Italy (1907). She emphasized the respect of the ecological balance.

Margaret S. Collins

Dr. Collins was an African-American child prodigy, entomologist (zoologist) specializing in the study of termites, and a civil rights advocate. She became the first African American female entomologist and the third African American female zoologist.
